you have piqued my curiosity, madam! this forever war book sounds so very intriguing indeed. and isn't ALWAYS odd how old sci-fi has advanced ships and space colonies but NOT smaller/better computers? check out the green line graphics in Alien, for example. odd the sort of stuff those writers are dead on the nose with yet so FAR off with others.
and i REALLY want to hear what you have to say about Eyre Affair. i know other people who have said i should read it, so i want YOUR thoughts. please and thank you.

There are two weird gems on my Top Shelf: The Face in the Frost by John Bellairs; and The Book of the Dun Cow by Walter Wangerin. Nobody has ever heard of them and I would be hard put to explain what the heck they are about, but hey, that's your job! The reason I mention it is that I keep going back to them and reading them over and over.

Almost forgot -- Ansel occasionally jams guitar with another friend of Jay's and mine, David Wingo. Dave is a phenominal guitarist, and he & Ansel have played the Hard Rock Cafe a few times.

The old Steinway is still in Jay's house, and it could possibly be fit into the back of my almost-as-old Chevy truck. I'm pretty sure the Steinway was made in 1919, but perhaps I'll go check today, just to be sure. Gail is having a memorial for Jay (I don't know when just yet) if you would like to attend. I'll be carrying Jay's ashes to Ohio Pyle, and he'll take one last ride over the Rapids there, as that was one of his favorite things to do. I love you Punkin Bean!

I like the color, the theme, the general look and feel. I could argue it's a bit narrow, but I don't feel like arguing. :D

Frankly, it just makes me happy to see you using your blog because that means my server is getting traffic!

i like this layout fine. i mean, it isn't super-fun-tastic making me do cartwheels or anything, but it isn't ugly or awkward to look at or use, which makes it good. orange is kinda weird, but only because it isn't everyday, i think, and that's never a BAD thing. plus, a mix tape, so yay! also, this layout tastes funny. thought you should know.
